- Check chart colors. Use independent dataviz guidance and palette validation without opening an editor. Reports keep each rule's warning or failure.
- Keep Chat moving. Queued first messages continue when the runtime becomes available. Send selected local files with the first message from the main view or a Project. After the message is saved and its Chat opens, the sent text and attachments leave the composer. Qualified native Codex titles use the selected title model. Ordinary Codex Chat checks the native protocol and required capabilities instead of requiring one exact CLI version; quota queries and optional updates remain independent. Native title generation and isolated editing keep their separate CLI qualification.
- Read long conversations with fewer stalls. History loads in small batches and keeps the reading position. Search results return to the selected message as conversation history loads. Streaming updates and code highlighting avoid repeated work across earlier messages. Code blocks keep their copy actions and layout.
- Download less. Packaged App GUI dependencies exclude unused build and editor-tool files while keeping the supported compiler paths and license notices.

Validation limits. Physical-device checks, system clipboard/drop, target-application PPTX reopening, complete reference-tool operation parity, long-duration installed-app memory checks and the final manual UX review retain their separate acceptance scope. Fixture performance measurements do not certify physical iPhone Safari behavior.
Licenses. Bottega first-party code remains MIT. The modified Canvas, Slides and Design System editor forks retain the BaoCut Community License and their original notices. Other bundled reference materials retain their own terms. Commercial distribution, inclusion in commercial software supplied to others or commercial hosted access to covered code requires separate written rights; the root MIT license does not replace those terms.

- Review before applying AI changes. Save element or area comments, reply, resolve and reopen threads. The supported Codex path works on a separate candidate. If the selected Agent cannot provide isolated editing, the request stays unavailable. Preview, accept, discard or continue editing it; one AI rollback restores the complete previous file set without another model call.
- Keep the controls consistent. SVG icons and compact floating review controls follow light and dark appearances. Touch controls retain larger targets. Encrypted browser editing preserves unsent input and asks which draft to keep after a conflict.

- Choose the data it can read. Grant access to specific Base data or declared read-only APIs. Configure API keys or Bearer credentials through the host. Credentials stay encrypted on this computer. Preview access and installed-instance access require separate consent.
- Keep details close. Open standard or isolated custom details, refresh data, and use approved actions. Pause or remove an instance from Dock settings. Private package delivery carries immutable compiled files; receiving a package does not grant permission to run it or read local data.

- Keep Artifacts in tabs. Open multiple Artifacts in the third column alongside other previews. Reopen a saved Artifact to return to its existing tab. Use the current panel width, or choose the full view. Switching or closing waits for saving; a failed save keeps the original tab and input. Follow-ups from an expanded preview return to the original Chat draft and input focus, including on narrow screens after a preview refresh.
- Select without reloading. Click an element on a desktop or phone artboard without resetting its live preview, form input or page state. A preview that must load first keeps the original click. Compact Canvas controls share one floating toolbar and wrap when space is limited.
- Follow tasks from the Dock. Add the Tasks widget to see running and waiting work, read details and return to the corresponding Chat. Privacy mode hides task content and counts. The Dock widget replaces the previous notch task panel.
- Open Apps from the Dock. Pin an available Bottega App from its menu. Open or focus it in a separate window while retaining its session and draft. Dock pinning and sidebar pinning are separate. Reorder pinned items by dragging, or drag an item out to unpin it. Menus open beside the selected App icon.
- Choose menu-bar visibility. Show or hide the menu-bar icon in General settings. This choice is separate from background tasks and the Dock.
- Handle startup and quit more clearly. Suppress macOS Keychain authorization popups from Bottega's credential encryption path. If encrypted credentials are unavailable, retain them and show recovery in the app. Cancel pending Cloud requests during quit, then finish local cleanup. Keep unconfirmed uploads for recovery after restart.
- Recover sync without repeating work. Recover eligible older replies and Artifacts without rerunning the task. Preserve differing local results in a recovery Project before adopting the Cloud copy. A failed Artifact marker without file bytes no longer blocks recovery; real files still require size and hash checks. Reveal linked Project folders at their current location and open archive or removal confirmations after the menu closes. Apps refresh saved data when background updates overlap, without a false refresh error or another save.

- More room for Artifacts. Reduce the Chat column to 180px and give the side preview more space. Composer controls wrap within narrow columns. Manual panel widths return when the window has enough space again.
- Clearer Canvas controls. Open work and version history from the title. Floating tools and inspectors adapt to the available width without resizing the Canvas. Single-object actions contain Duplicate and Delete. Typography has a readable font row and clear Close, Cancel and recovery actions. Enter a zoom percentage or fit the page, artboard or selection.
- Keep the Canvas in place. Pan through the gaps between toolbar groups. Creating or duplicating an object preserves the current view, including a pan still in progress. Images load as needed, previews share bounded resources, and the gesture clock stops after activity ends.
- Bring comments into Chat. Select an element, write a comment and choose Confirm to add its reference and comment to the original Chat draft. Existing draft text and files stay available. Focus returns after saving; an older request cannot close a preview you open later. You choose when to send the message.
- Recover replies and Artifacts. Retry saving a finished reply or loading its original Artifact without sending the prompt again. Preserve unsaved edits after a save conflict or failed refresh, and wait for saving before closing. Improve preview cleanup, version handling and recovery for forks and initial design-system saves. More reliable Agent Stop and recovery of background execution after a lost connection or missing result.
- A more readable Dock. Dock panels use solid backgrounds in light and dark appearances. The Bottega icon follows the sizing of native App artwork while keeping its full click target.
- Upgrade together. This release uses protocol 21. Update the desktop computers that run your Agents to 0.2.9 and reload Bottega Web. Desktop, Web and Cloud must use the matching protocol. Existing content, sync passwords and account keys remain; no data reset is required.
- Canvas validation limits. Common-operation checks passed. Six controlled idle observations measured about 83.6% less CPU in the host renderer, compared with the retained baseline; this is not a whole-app or energy claim. - Update when you are ready. Download a new version from the sidebar without leaving your work. The sidebar and Settings show progress and a visible percentage. When the download finishes, choose Restart and update. Bottega waits for this action before restarting.
- Control background services. Codex services show their command name, status and Stop above the Chat input. Stop one service while the others keep running. Read output in the original command details, and retry if a stop fails.
- Keep Bottega within reach. Bottega Dock keeps one Bottega icon available, including when other open Apps are hidden. Return to your current page or reopen the main window from that icon. Running Apps have a Quit action that preserves their normal save and cancel prompts.
- A clearer Dock. New Dock settings keep the bar visible. Apps and widgets, other running Apps, and Downloads and Trash have separate groups. Replacement placement stays at the display edge. Existing auto-hide choices remain available.
- Preview Downloads. Browse Recent, Previous 7 days and Earlier groups with native image thumbnails and file icons. Enlarge a preview, return with Escape, or reveal the file in Finder. Privacy masking also hides thumbnail content.
- Simpler Chat details. File previews place Reveal in Finder beside Close. Conversation rows use tighter spacing, and the Archive tooltip has a shorter label.
- Refresh Apps safely. Keep the App view available while its replacement loads. If refresh reports expired or withdrawn access, the old view is removed and recovery stays on the App page.

- Native Codex connection. Codex uses its native App Server and requires CLI 0.163.0-alpha.10.2 exactly. The conversation layout stays the same: reasoning summaries and command names remain in their activity views, with background output, status and Stop in the original command details.
- Native command approval. Ask for approval uses your decision; Approve for me uses Codex's automatic reviewer. Electron launches can request the needed permissions through this path. Approval can be refused, and a refusal does not switch the chat to Full access.
- Explicit permission changes. Workspace modes allow network access, temporary-directory writes and ordinary reads outside the workspace. Bottega's previous credential-path denials and internal read-only fences no longer apply to Codex commands. Full access is broader, and Plan does not enforce filesystem read-only access. Unsupported strict roles are refused before execution. Read the permission guide.
- Chat continuity. After an Agent switch, chats can recover saved images and files from earlier messages. Local TXT, Markdown and JSON links open in the side preview.
- Title generation. Supported Agents recheck sign-in when cached authentication expires. This version's Codex connection does not support the restricted, tool-free execution required for generated titles. With Codex selected for titles, Bottega uses the first message and keeps the selected Agent and model. To generate titles, select a supported Agent in Settings › General › Title generation. Bottega never switches Providers automatically.
- Connection checks. Model discovery and connection checks report startup failures, cancellation and early process exits without remaining stuck.
- Validation status. Published by owner decision before completion of the full local end-to-end suite and the final-package Codex/Electron GUI checks. Remaining issues will be handled as follow-up bugs. No complete acceptance evidence archive is provided, and a real installed upgrade has not been verified.
- Dock stays Alpha. The whole plugin requires macOS 27.x and Apple silicon. Replacement, recovery across logout or restart, and display/fullscreen combinations are still being validated; the main application's requirements stay unchanged.

Bottega Dock Alpha source candidate
- Alpha on macOS 27. The entire Dock plugin requires macOS 27.x and Apple silicon. The plugin card, introduction and settings show Alpha and the system requirement separately. The main application's system requirements stay unchanged.
- Signed replacement checks. Replacement becomes selectable after checks pass for the installed app, its native helper, recovery executable and bundled background-service configuration. Development and unsigned builds offer coexistence. Selecting a mode or layout makes no system change; replacement requires the final impact confirmation. Existing coexistence settings and layouts are retained.
- Approval and registration. Pending background approval has a System Settings action. Returning refreshes its status without automatic registration or takeover. If macOS cannot find the recovery registration, Dock explains that it may not have been created yet. An existing confirmed replacement request can retry through Continue enabling after installation verification passes and pending recovery is resolved.
- Activation and recovery. Active replacement requires a recovery handshake, a reachable Dock entry and confirmed preference writes. An unexpected native-bridge exit during preparation or active replacement starts system Dock restoration and leaves replacement paused until explicit Resume. Quit, disable and switching to coexistence retain the restoration path. Failed restoration keeps its record and retry action. Independent recovery checks an interrupted restoration again after its short grace period instead of leaving it skipped indefinitely.
This source candidate keeps version 0.2.6 and is identified by its source commit and installer hashes. Final native and system acceptance of the same unchanged signed installer is pending. The published 0.2.6 download, tag, Release and Latest remain unchanged.

- Artifact navigation and controls. Move the third-column Canvas with two fingers on a trackpad. Zoom stays centered on the pointer, while text fields and scrollable content keep their own scrolling. A single header and separate floating toolbars leave more room for your work. Export sits to the left of Play, Undo and Redo move to the bottom right, and the shape menu has clear icon, label and shortcut alignment. Restore missing Design tool controls in Settings. Closing the More menu no longer blocks subsequent Canvas clicks. Board thumbnails still open their boards when previews fail to load.
- Direct previews in Chat. Artifact cards show a large static preview without a title bar or internal scrollbars. Download floats at the top right, with Open Artifact at the bottom. Completed replies and Worked for details remain visible when an Artifact card arrives first. The work dropdown includes saved versions, including v1, and other Artifacts.
- Reliable captures and comments. Fix incomplete previews of content created by scripts and capture failures on large pages. Comment mode stays active when changing boards, so clicking an element opens its comment form. Forms remain inside the visible Canvas, and focusing an input no longer moves the canvas.
- App preview recovery. Repair App preview authorization. When a preview cannot open, show the error and recovery actions on the App page instead of switching to Data.
- Simpler plugin settings. Browse the complete plugin catalog in groups with fewer controls. Plugin introduction pages use one title and a clear return to the catalog.

- Refine remote Send and Stop. Reduce avoidable waiting when sending a message, stopping a running Agent, and bringing its finished or interrupted reply to Web. Recover an uncertain request without sending it again as a new command. Agent and tool availability updates more promptly after desktop settings change.
- Keep replies in view. Fix replies that could remain below the composer as the input area changes size or a streaming reply finishes. Following the latest reply continues through these changes; scrolling up to read earlier messages still pauses that following behavior.
- Make queue recovery predictable. Prevent repeated automatic Resume requests and duplicate “queue changed” notices after Stop. A failed queue update in one Chat no longer blocks updates for other Chats. Fix unnecessary connection retries after a subscription has already recovered.
- Explain connection problems clearly. Web uses consistent loading, offline and recovery feedback across Chats, Apps and Bases. Draft text, attachments and references stay available through recovery and are not sent automatically. Temporary content-sync problems do not block other available actions.
- Preserve drafts and recover completed replies. Keep each App Edit draft separate from New Chat and other Apps. Retrying a failed first-message attachment continues in the Chat already created. Fix reply recovery after Stop and a sync error that could appear when a completed reply and another update arrived together.
- Keep spreadsheet data intact. Base XLSX export and reimport preserve separate columns and linked records, including reordered columns or repeated column names. Imports with ambiguous column matches stop before changing Base data. Edited relation cells do not silently restore their previous link.
- Handle folders and exports more reliably. Fix paths when moving a Bottega folder whose name contains non-ASCII characters. Preserve differing Chat copies instead of treating files of the same size as identical. Improve App data retention, support long export filenames, and cancel pending exports cleanly when their App closes. Keep startup recovery controls and saved-recovery notices in the same language, including early startup errors. Prevent background helper processes from remaining after an interrupted App readiness check. The App element picker no longer depends on external font or version-check requests.

The side-panel button follows the panel's state, and outline navigation highlights the selected message bubble. After a first message is rejected, edit or replace its attachments before retrying. If the selected Agent needs login, use its authentication retry action. Restore the App interface after closing a separate window.
- Fix icons and preview shutdown. macOS installers use native icon frames, Web keeps its favicon and install icons, and Agents can stop preview processes inside their own sandbox while other processes remain protected. App builds allow more time for native startup checks and fully stop timed-out check processes.

- Editable Sketch plugins. Sketch retains editable source alongside its image, supports version changes, and keeps the previous working version when a build fails. Confirmed sketches recover across restarts, and updates preserve unsaved work in an open canvas.
- Memory with visible control. Memory remains off by default. Web settings can request pause or resume on the owning computer and show when the request takes effect. Workflow Memory is separately authorized and read-only; workflows do not capture new memories.
- Dock on your chosen display. Choose the primary display, prefer an external display, or name one display, then dock on the left, bottom, or right. Placement is local to each computer; the saved layout can sync. This prerelease supports coexistence with the system Dock and native glass where available; replacement mode is unavailable.
- A more complete Web workspace. App and Base menus adapt to narrow screens, offline actions explain their state, and run details include step reports and evidence. App enable/disable actions retain data and confirm their impact. Supported browsers can opt in to notifications. Static and Base-backed Apps remain available in the browser; server App interfaces remain desktop-only.
- Clearer recovery. Folder recovery and startup failures give specific actions, quitting waits for confirmed draft saves, and failed settings loads preserve the current list and draft for retry. Interrupted App or plugin compilation no longer prevents the next launch. Component updates preserve local author changes, and refreshing imported history corrects Project attribution while keeping saved Chats.
macOS Apple silicon + Web. Download 0.2.0 or open Bottega Web. This version is a prerelease with manual updates. The macOS installers use ad-hoc signatures and are not notarized while Apple Developer enrollment is pending. Windows, Linux, and Android distribution are scheduled separately.
The production backend and Web now use protocol 14. Update desktops that need cloud access to 0.2.0; protocol-13 clients must update before reconnecting. Existing cloud content and sync passwords are retained. Quit Bottega and back up its content and application data before installing. See the upgrade and installation guide.
Download the DMG or ZIP and release-manifest.json from the release page. Run shasum -a 256 on the installer and manually compare the output with its sha256 in the manifest. This prerelease does not install automatic updates or enter GitHub Latest. Third-party Provider modules, a public plugin marketplace, and a public SDK release are not enabled by this release. - Workflows: Plan · Develop · Review. Turn on the built-in workflow for a Project's Base and choose which Agent configuration plans, develops, and reviews. Start a run from a row: you confirm the plan, then accept the result, accept it with an exception, or send it back for rework. The Base gains a Stage and an Acceptance criteria column; a run can be paused, cancelled, or retried step by step, and a run waiting on you reminds you and pauses after 24 hours. In this version Claude and Codex can take workflow steps.
- Agent configurations. Settings › Agent configs holds reusable setups — Provider, model, instructions, permissions, a read-only or writable workspace, and network access — starting from Blank, Planner, Developer, or Reviewer. They sync with your account, and a change applies to runs that start after you save it.
- Plugins & Apps. One place in Settings for what is installed: Base, the four Providers, the Workflow plugin, your Extensions, and each Agent's own plugins. Turning a plugin off deletes nothing.
- Needs you, on the Web and your phone. Start a run, confirm, decide, send back for rework, pause, or cancel from app.getbottega.app; the Needs you bell lists everything waiting for your decision. Static and Base-backed App interfaces now open in the browser too, with Use Chat, Edit, and the build status.
- A bundled Node runtime. Bottega's own tools — the built-in MCP server, the App interface compiler, the Agent adapters, and Apps' Node scripts — run on a Node 24 shipped inside the app, never on a Node from your PATH.
- Tighter Agent boundaries. Agent turns can no longer read the GitHub CLI's configuration folder; reviewing a plan never raises an Agent's permissions; browser tools read only the Chat's own tabs and the tab you selected; in Ask for approval, Approve for me, and Plan modes, Codex now runs commands inside Bottega's sandbox.
- Steadier conversations. Drafts survive quitting, a crash, or a restart; queued messages keep sending while their Chat is off screen; a message sent while Bottega is still starting waits and sends itself; and a failed file snapshot offers Retry or Skip instead of locking the composer.
- Sign-in approval with a code. Approving a desktop sign-in in the browser now means choosing the code that Bottega shows on that computer.
- Also changed. Settings › Lab and its Keep Agent connections switch are removed. Development Kanban is no longer bundled; a copy you installed keeps working. A missing Bottega folder opens a recovery dialog that can locate it or start a new one.
- Protocol 13. The synchronization protocol now carries Agent configurations, the workflow columns, and workflow runs with their Needs you items.
Before upgrading: back up your Bottega folder and the application data folder. 0.1.9 does not open a 0.1.8 chat database: it is set aside unchanged and the conversation index is rebuilt from your Bottega folder. - Bottega Dock (macOS 15 or later, Apple silicon). A Dock for the Apps you build in Bottega, your other Apps, Finder, Downloads, the Trash, and an AI-limits ring per Agent. It can sit above the system Dock, or replace it: Bottega then sets the system Dock to hide, and a small recovery item in your background items restores it if Bottega stops unexpectedly. Turn it on in Settings › Dock; Restore System Dock is always available there, in the Dock's right-click menu, and in Bottega's menu bar menu.
- Your Dock layout follows your account. The Dock layout is end-to-end encrypted and synchronized across your computers. When two computers change it at the same time, Bottega merges what it can and asks you about the rest.
- Settings that read the same everywhere. Dock, Sync, and Memory now use the same sections and rows as the rest of Settings; errors and progress appear in the row they belong to, and step-by-step setup opens in one consistent dialog. Onboarding has a new layout with the steps on the left.
- Move your Bottega folder. Move folder in Settings › General moves the folder when Bottega restarts, and every saved path follows it. Moving to another disk copies and verifies everything first; the old copy then goes to the Trash.
- Erase all data. Erase all data on this computer in Settings › General › Danger zone removes conversations, settings, keys, and sign-in from this computer and restarts at setup; the Bottega folder can go to the Trash too. Cloud data is kept and comes back when you sign in again.
- A deleted Bottega folder starts setup again instead of stopping at a recovery dialog, and a conversation copy that can no longer be opened is moved to the folder's
.trash and reported once. - Protocol 10. The synchronization protocol moved forward to carry the encrypted Dock layout. Local data is unchanged.

- Settings: Providers, Updates, Community. Providers sets the Agent new Chats start on and the order every Agent picker shows. Updates lists Bottega and every installed provider CLI with its version, one row each plus Update all — providers update first and Bottega last, because Bottega restarts. Community keeps the GitHub, issue, and release-note links. The former About and Backends pages are gone; installing and signing in to an Agent stay in Agent setup.
- Steering no longer fails when the Agent cannot take it now. A message you send while an Agent is working is used in the running turn when the Agent supports it. When it does not (Kimi Code and OpenCode), the message is kept and sent as soon as the turn ends; from another device the receipt reads that it will be sent after this turn. Only input the Agent cannot accept at all is refused, and your draft stays. If the turn already ended, a refused steer offers Send as a new message.
- Remote attachments are cleaned before they leave. When you send to another computer — from Cloud Web or from a desktop driving a remote Chat — photos are resized to at most 2048 px, and camera metadata (location, device, EXIF/XMP), GIF comment blocks, and other embedded metadata are removed. Files are checked against their real type. HEIC photos are converted when the browser can read them, and a clear message explains when it cannot. An attachment uploaded but not sent for 20 hours asks to be uploaded again instead of failing on send, and Cloud Web no longer downloads your own uploads back from the cloud to display them.
- A stronger sync password. A new sync password needs at least 12 characters with a letter and a number, at least 5 different characters, no long runs of repeated or sequential characters, and nothing from your email name,
bottega, or the most common passwords. The form ticks each rule as you type. Existing passwords keep unlocking as before. - Offline computers say how long. A computer that is not awake reads *asleep*, *offline*, or *disconnected* with the time since it was last seen, right in the composer.
- Protocol 9. The synchronization protocol moved forward to carry the new steering outcome and to prepare the service for the upcoming mobile app. Local data is unchanged.

- A conversation belongs to the computer that created it. Bottega no longer moves a running conversation between computers. Local is local, remote is remote: you open the computer that holds the work and drive it from wherever you are. Executor selection, hand-over, and the cross-computer queue are gone, along with the questions they used to ask you.
- Signing in is remote control. A computer that is signed in publishes its sidebar — its Projects and its Chats — and accepts commands for them. There is no second switch anywhere in the product: Settings' sync area is your sign-in state, this computer's name, and Sign out. Setup no longer asks whether to work on this computer or connect an account; everyone starts local, and signing in is a later step. The sync password is still part of signing in: the first computer sets it, and every later computer, browser, and phone enters it.
- Switch computers in the sidebar. Cloud Web, a phone browser, and the desktop share one strip at the top of the sidebar, one tab per computer, with a dot while it is awake and
Offline · 5 minutes ago when it is not. It appears once your account holds a second computer, and a desktop always lists itself first. Rename a computer in Settings; a new computer arriving with a name already taken is registered as … (2). A browser signed in to an account with no computer yet is told to sign in on a computer first, and is never asked for a password it cannot set. - Work with another computer's Projects. A remote Project carries a globe mark and its computer's name and offers no folder, path, or "Choose folder" — it has none here. A Chat you create under it is created, run, and stored over there. On the desktop, the sidebar's Projects
+ now offers Local Project or Pin a remote Project…: pinning places another computer's Project in this computer's sidebar and copies nothing, unpinning changes nothing for the owner, and a Project the owner deletes or archives leaves a marked row with Unpin as its only action. - An offline computer no longer blocks your edits. Renaming, archiving, reordering, editing a Base row, and writing an App record keep working while the computer that owns them is asleep, and it reconciles them when it wakes. Only execution needs it awake — send, Stop, approve, answer, steer, delete a Chat — and those controls grey in place with the reason instead of taking your draft away, then recover by themselves. When two devices answer the same permission request, the second one reads "Handled on *computer*" as a single line rather than an error.
- A Bottega folder belongs to its computer. The first synchronization records the owner, in your account and in the folder. The same computer takes the folder back after a reinstall, a cleared data folder, or a new profile, with nothing to confirm; another computer is refused by name, with one sentence explaining what to do instead. A folder that has never synchronized opens anywhere. Everything a computer published stays readable in a browser and on your other computers whether or not it is awake.
- Continue an imported conversation anywhere. An imported Codex, Claude Code, or Kimi history is no longer read-only in a fresh profile, in a workspace rebuilt from the folder, or under a Project with no folder chosen. It opens with the ordinary composer, and one divider marks where the imported history ends.
- The first upload tells the truth, and is shorter. Settings › Sync now counts real uploaded bytes instead of standing at
0 B, and finishes exactly on its own total. Small conversations upload first, so the count starts moving in seconds. Each message now takes about half as many round trips as before. - Protocol 8. The synchronization protocol and the local chat database both moved forward without a compatibility layer, which is what the upgrade note above is about.
Before upgrading: 0.1.6 does not open a 0.1.5 chat database. On first launch the previous bottega.sqlite3 and its sidecars are moved aside into recovery/sqlite/ inside the application data folder, byte for byte, and the conversation index is rebuilt from your Bottega folder. Replies that never finished may be missing, and search indexes and synchronization state are recreated. Cloud data from 0.1.5 is not carried over either: the synchronization protocol changed and the service is reset before this release, so sign in again and let the first computer set the sync password again. - Sync your work across computers, end to end encrypted. Cloud Sync is optional and stays off until you turn it on; local use still needs no account. The first computer sets a separate sync password of at least 8 characters including an English letter and a number. The key that encrypts your content is derived from it on your own device with Argon2id, content is sealed with XChaCha20-Poly1305 before it is uploaded, and the server stores only ciphertext. There is no recovery key and no password reset, and Bottega says so before you turn sync on. One account holds one encrypted workspace; a second computer joins it with the same account and the same password.
- Open your workspace in a browser. Signed in at app.getbottega.app you can read Chats with their tool activity and attachments, search chat titles and the last seven days of message bodies, work with Bases in all six views, read and edit synced App records, restore or delete archived items, and manage devices and preferences. Phone browsers are supported. Custom App interfaces, the in-app Browser, and local tools stay on your computer.
- Continue a conversation from another device. When remote control is enabled for the service, a signed-in desktop that is online and unlocked can be driven from Cloud Web or a phone browser: choose the computer and Agent, send a message, watch the reply stream, Stop, approve or reject permission requests, answer questions, steer, and follow up. Remote control is a server-side switch rather than an app setting. While it is off, Chats open in the browser as read only, and reading a transcript or watching a running turn still works.
- Keep everything in a folder you own. The Bottega folder chosen during setup holds Chat transcripts, original attachments, saved artifacts, Chat Home files, Project details, Base records, App source, and Skills. Account settings, keys, and device permissions stay on each computer. Quit Bottega before copying the folder for a complete backup, then choose that copy on another computer or in a fresh profile. File-synchronization folders such as iCloud Drive and Dropbox are unsupported. If the local Chat database cannot be opened, startup can rebuild conversations from the folder while preserving the previous database.
- Start with the setup you want. Onboarding first asks whether to work on this computer only or to connect an existing account, then walks through the Bottega folder, Agents, Skills, and long-term memory. Memory is set up inside the wizard instead of sending you to Settings.
- See what your Agent produced. Visualizations render inline and open in the side panel, file artifacts gain preview, save, reveal, and Quick Look actions, worksheets can be imported into a Base, and Claude artifacts open in the built-in browser. Previews stay sandboxed with no network or storage access.
- More control over the four Agents. OpenCode Go quota joins Codex, Claude Code, and Kimi in Settings and the Agent selector, with rolling, weekly, and monthly windows. Title generation now names one explicit Agent and model, and all four Agents can be chosen. A new Settings › Lab holds Keep Agent connections, off by default, which warms an Agent process when a conversation opens and reuses it for that conversation's turns in exchange for some memory.
- Everyday sidebar work. Drag Chats into the order you want, and that order is part of what syncs. Projects can be renamed without disturbing their contents and sorted by last update or by hand. Archiving a Chat or Project shows confetti, which can be turned off in Settings › General and pauses under the system reduced-motion setting.

- Sketch directly in your prompt. Open + → Sketch to draw, add text or one of eight shapes, and erase part of a stroke or shape. Undo, redo, colors, and stroke widths stay close to the canvas. Saved sketches remain editable in drafts and restored queues, then reach the Agent as white-background PNG images.
- See Agent quota before choosing. Settings and the Agent selector show available Codex, Claude Code, and Kimi quota windows, remaining amounts, and reset times. OpenCode clearly reports that unified quota information is unavailable. Returning to the app resumes an interrupted first query; sign-in, installation, and repair actions remain available beside Agent status.
- Keep local work durable. Chat, Base, Project, App, and attachment storage now share stronger consistency and recovery rules. Interrupted work preserves its recorded state. Normal use remains local and requires no cloud account; cloud synchronization is not included in this release.
- Use consistent first-party Apps. Development Kanban, Expense Tracker, Fitness Log, and Design Canvas now use React and shared interface conventions while retaining their existing data and workflows. The bundled Apps still require Bottega 0.1.3 or newer.
- Choose your background entry. One setting controls background operation. On macOS, choose a Bottega Logo icon, a monochrome menu-bar icon, or the notch task panel; Bottega remembers the choice and uses an icon when no notched display is available. Launch at login remains a separate option, and both startup options default to off.
- Smoother everyday controls. Settings navigation, font sizing, rename dialogs, App progress, failure recovery, and sharing dialogs now provide clearer actions and more consistent layouts. Sketch opens in a responsive square canvas with floating controls and an in-place loading state.

- Switch Agents within a chat. Choose Codex, Claude Code, Kimi Code, or OpenCode for the next turn while the chat is idle. Keep one transcript with clear author and switch markers; the new Agent receives bounded context and can retrieve relevant chat history.
- See whether an Agent is ready. The composer shows installation, authentication, and runtime availability, with focused install, sign-in, and retry actions. Unavailable Agents no longer silently consume queued work, and recovery stays scoped to the affected chat or Agent.
- Follow tasks outside the main window on macOS. Independently enable launch at login, keep-running behavior after closing the window, and a floating task panel. The top-of-screen panel shows running tasks and requests needing attention, supports keyboard navigation, and opens the related chat. All three options are off by default.
- Check App compatibility before installation. All four first-party Apps now declare Bottega 0.1.3 as their minimum version. Installation, rebuilding, authorization, and activation check that requirement; an upgrade prompt can return to the original App candidate after restarting. Rejected updates preserve the existing working version and permissions.
- Rename Apps without disturbing their work. Changing an App's display name keeps its active version, source, data, and permissions intact.
- Simplify adding Projects. History-import choices appear when local CLI history is actually available, while Projects without history can be added directly.

- Made App data loading complete and recoverable. Base snapshots read every page and publish one consistent revision; Fitness plan submissions retain their original row IDs through retries and uncertain outcomes, preventing duplicate submissions.
- Fixed in-chat Find retry and navigation behavior. A failed page waits for an explicit retry, stale responses cannot replace a newer query, and switching chats no longer leaves the previous managed-worktree branch visible.
